This album is mesmerising with atmospheric keyboards, intricate guitars and pounding drum beats. My favourite tracks include Winter Shades and The Field Where I Died, both of which make use of the Beauty and the Beast vocals to full effect and both instill a sense of sadness and loneliness in me. Another atmospheric gem. Best listened to from beginning to end, to get the full impact. Some lyrical refrain connects this one (and apparently the forthcoming one) to the debut, and there are songs from each album that sort of inversely mirror each other. It seems WNR are building their own darkly romantic musical mythos, and the journey is well worth going on.
